 BIO.

Hi! I’m Alex MacGregor, a 3D artist based in Liverpool. My background is in music & audio, having completed an undergraduate degree in this field at the University of the West of England.

 

Two years ago, after some time away from the creative industry, I installed Blender for the first time, with the intention of making some portfolio pieces to add sound design to. However, I quickly fell in love with the practice of 3D art and animation, and began to fully pursue this practice.

 

In March of last year, I enrolled in an Unreal Engine Skills bootcamp ran by IN4 group and Liverpool Metropolitan region. It was through this bootcamp that I had the opportunity to join Scenegraph Studios in Birkenhead, where I currently work as a Junior Visual Content Creator.

My work for Scenegraph Studios involves using Unreal Engine, Blender, Vector and Graphics software and most recently Nvidia Omniverse. My overarching role within the team is to focus on making Scenegraph’s output as visually appealing as possible!

 

In my spare time, I work on my own 3D art, personal projects and competition renders. I have also done some freelance 3D work; most recently I was involved in a joint study between Copper Candle, the University of York and CoStar LiveLab, on performance capture of musicians in a concert setting.

Aside from my work, I spend time running a Dungeons and Dragons campaign as Dungeon Master for some old freinds: I create my own adventures, characters, and tabletop maps to use in my sessions. I still try to carve out some of my spare time to play videogames as much as possible.
